AECOM and BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) have formed Nuclear Waste Partnership LLC (NWP) to support the DOE Office of Environmental Management (EM) and Carlsbad Field Office (CBFO) in achieving WIPP and National TRU Waste Program (NTP) goals. NWP will drive new efficiencies into WIPP operations and ensure the long-term success of deep geologic disposal of transuranic wastes in the U.S. In the performance of WIPP's mission, we will proactively manage and mitigate those risks that could impact EM's Goal 3 of disposing 90% of the Legacy TRU waste by 2015.
The NWP team includes major subcontractor AREVA Federal Services, LLC (AREVA) to provide best-in-industry TRU waste characterization expertise, services, equipment, and our protege, VJ Technologies (VJT), a leader in real-time radiography (RTR) technology and application.
AECOM provides safe, innovative management of high-risk, technically complex projects and programs in nuclear and hazardous waste facilities and site-remediation activities.
